National City Hotspot! - Menudería Don Vicente

We love to see local spots excel at high quality, comfort food outside of the traditional tourist zone of San Diego. Menudería Don Vicente located in National City, is well known locally for its soothing soups, crispy quesadillas, and delicious breakfast options. We took a look inside and were incredibly impressed, this is definitely a #sdfoodies spot.

The Cuisine

Menudo is a traditional Mexican homestyle dish, consisting of a spicy red broth, beef stomach, hominy, and garnished with a plethora of herbs and spices. This hearty soup is as classic as it comes for many San Diegians, although this might by a stretch for some due to its unique protein, its a must try!

We ordered three amazing dishes from Menudería Don Vicente. We enjoyed all of them and you should go with some friends so you don’t over eat like I did!

Desayuno Don Vincente.

We loved the Beef Birria Quesadilla as well! It was hearty, cheesy, and the tortilla being quickly dunked in the spicy broth added a delicious addition to this classic dish!

The surprise dish we enjoyed was the Desayuno Don Vincente. This breakfast plate is available all day and made a very delicious addition to the meal. This dish came with a spread of a Huevos Rancheros, Chilaquiles, and Machacha and was so hearty and comforting. I wish I had come in the morning as this would have been amazing!
