Transit - Friendly San Diego Restaurant Week Spots We Love!

San Diego Restaurant Week is almost here! Time to hit the town and enjoy some of the +100 restaurants participating in San Diego County! From the South Bay to Oceanside, there are some absolutely incredible spots to visit! Since this is a very busy time for restaurants, it’s best to take the San Diego MTS to alleviate traffic. Also makes sure you get to your reservation on time! Here are 23 incredible restaurants that are close to transit stops, as well as one of our favorites and how we enjoyed it!

One of our favorite spots for San Diego Restaurant Week has to be the famed Cafe Coyote in Old Town. From the smell of freshly cooking flour tortillas, massive margaritas, and classic American / Mexican food, Cafe Coyote is a staple of the Old Town community. Known for its friendly staff, loyal patrons, delicious Mexican Food, and a festive atmosphere! Cafe Coyote started as a small 30-person restaurant with just 10 employees in 1989 and has grown to over 200 employees, which seats over 800 guests!

We love heading over to Old Town to enjoy Cafe Coyote, but as this is a very busy spot, parking can be tough! So we always recommend taking the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System for an easy, convenient, and quick ride! We took the Green Line from our condo in Mission Valley to the Old Town Station, but you can get there from the UC San Diego Blue Line (which runs from UTC to the border), too. Once arriving it’s just a quick walk through the gorgeous and historical Old Town park to Cafe Coyote! You can practically smell the warm tortillas from here!
